You can play with a card of the same rank or suit as the card on the central pile. You can also always play with an eight. After you play with an eight you can change the suit to be played with. If the first card on the table is eight, you can start the play with any card. You can pick multiple cards, but they all have to be of the same rank. That's it. Have fun!
